What is Automatic Bill Payment?

Once you sign up for Automatic Bill Payment and schedule payments, your regular bills are paid according to the schedule you specify, allowing you to simply review payments on your monthly Chase checking account statement. You'll never need to worry about due dates or missed payments.

What are the benefits?

Paying bills with your Chase Visa Check Card simplifies your life. Your payments are made quickly and conveniently, and you no longer have to track payment due dates, buy stamps, visit the mailbox, or write multiple checks. And depending on the Chase Visa Check Card you use, you may be eligible to earn airline miles, or reward points

Is it secure?

With Chase Zero Liability Protection, you'll be reimbursed for any unauthorized Check Card transaction made at stores, ATMs, on the phone or online when reported promptly.

Is there a fee?

Chase does not charge a fee for the convenience of bill payment, and many billers offer this option for free as well. Contact billers directly to determine if they charge a fee.

Getting Started

How can I pay my bills with my Chase Visa Check Card?

You must contact billers directly to pay a bill with your Chase Visa Check Card. To see if a biller participates, consult our Biller Directory.

When do my bills get paid?

You will be able to select the best date to make your payment, in order to ensure that your payments arrive before the due date. When signing up for automatic bill payment, you should continue to pay your bills directly until your biller informs you that automatic payment has been established.

After Establishing Bill Pay

What if my bill amount changes?

If you've established Manual Bill Pay, you will see the new bill amount before you pay. If you sign up for Auto Bill Pay, you will pre-select one of the following options:

  • 1) Pay the full amount of your bill each month even if it changes.
  • 2) Pay a fixed amount and be credited for overpayment.
  • 3) Charge the remaining amount at a later date.

How do I stop or discontinue Automatic Bill Payment?

Contact billers directly to cancel or discontinue any scheduled Automatic Bill Payment. Some billers require advance notice to discontinue automatic payments, so allow additional time for any changes to your payment service.

What if there is a payment discrepancy or I have other payment questions?

Please contact the biller directly to settle payment discrepancies or for other payment questions.

What if my Chase Visa Check Card is updated, lost or stolen?

Please immediately report a lost or stolen card to us. To avoid service interruption on Automatic Bill Payment, provide billers with your new Chase Visa Check Card information.

Remember, with Chase Zero Liability Protection, you'll be reimbursed for any unauthorized Check Card transaction made at stores, ATMs, on the phone or online when reported promptly.

Will I still receive a paper bill by mail?

Yes, most billers will continue to send you a duplicate of your bill by mail. You do not need to pay the bill twice. If you wish to stop receiving paper bills, contact the biller(s) directly.
